Julie is our program director and prekindergarten teacher, and also serves on our board as chairperson. Julie's vision of high-quality, affordable, and accessible education for young children lead the development of Beaver Brook. Julie has been working in early education in Vermont since 2013, and holds a Vermont prekindergarten teaching license and Masters Degree in Early Education and Administration. She loves being outdoors and spending time in the Adirondacks and Northern Vermont. Julie especially loves canouping (canoe camping), gardening, xc skiing, and hiking. Julie also works as an alpine children's ski instructor during the winter season.
Kay is our co-lead prekindergarten teacher at Beaver Brook. She currently holds a BA in Environmental Studies, a Master’s in Education, and a Master’s in Teaching. She has worked in both public and private schools for many years. Kay spent two years in the Peace Corps in Macedonia, and has lead professional development workshops on natural science curriculum to teachers through the Vermont Institute of Natural Science. Kay is passionate about instilling a love of learning through wonder, curiosity, and discovery. She is a life-long learner who enjoys spending lots of time outside in nature, gardening, kayaking on the river in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter. She especially enjoys working with preschool children.
Ella joins our team as an assistant to both the infant/toddler and prek programs. She has been working in childcare for a few years and loves spending time with children. In the classroom, she really enjoys doing art and going outside in nature. Outside of work she is very interested in fitness and nutrition. She loves summer and the beach, but cannot pass up skiing and snowboarding during the winter time!
