Our Programs
Beaver Brook Children's School was founded in 2021 by Julie Koehler. Our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality, nature-based early education programs to Wilmington and surrounding towns.

We currently run the following low cost or free programs in Southern Vermont:

-State Licensed Childcare for Infants and Toddlers ages 0-2 years: Located at the Old School Enrichment Center in our state licensed classrooms. We provide regular recurring care and education to local children 0-2 years Monday through Friday.
-Prekindergarten for 3 through 5 year old children: Located at the Old School Enrichment Center in our state licensed classroom. We are a preapproved program through Vermont's Act 166 Universal Prekindergarten and employ licensed teachers to oversee our free preschool and prekindergarten classes.

-Forest Kindergarten for 5 year olds: New for the 2025-2026 school year, we'll be running a fully outdoor Kindergarten program under our new Beaver Brook Pavilion.

-Preschool Summer Camp for 2.75-3 year olds: Camp is 9 weeks in length and offers lots of preparation in school readiness skills for rising preschoolers and LOTS of time outside to play!

-Nature Exploration Summer Camp for ages 4-8 years: Launched in 2022, and run in 2023 and 2024! Camp is typically 9-10 weeks in length. The program is a fully outdoor nature immersion experience and is held outside in our beautiful learning space adjacent to the Beaver Brook. Out-of-state and non-local families welcome.

-Homeschool Learning Collective for school age children: A new cohort with group sessions available for the 2024-2025 school year. Weekly sessions will be held at the Pool Nature Center (new home of the Southern VT Natural History Museum) and are fully outdoors.
