Our Programs
The Beaver Brook Children’s School mission is to provide high-quality childcare and early education services to Wilmington and nearby towns with the goal of promoting environmental education, place-based connectedness, and social development for families and children in the community.

Childcare for Infants and Toddlers ages 0-3 years: BBCS provides regular recurring care and education to local children 0-3 years in a safe and caring environment. Regular routines and consistent staff allow children to gain skills in independence, self-care, and regulation.
Nature-Based Preschool for 3-4 year olds: Preschool is a time of learning and exploration, focusing on play-based experiences and social-emotional growth. Lots of time spent outdoors and participating in free-play allows children to engage in guided risk taking, learn pro-social skills, and gain the gross motor and fine motor skills necessary for academic success.

Nature School for 4.5-5 year olds: Part time enrollment options in a fully outdoor prek class! Nature School is located at our pavillion during the school year and participates in community-based, project-centric learning experiences focusing on STREAM (science, technology, relationships, engineering, arts, and mathematics) blended with Waldorf and Reggio Emilia values.

Homeschool Learning Collective for 6-12 year olds: Older children are welcome to join us for our "learning collective" - a time to get together with like minded individuals for project-based community learning and exploration. The program runs seasonally for Fall and Spring sessions during the school year.

Preschool Summer Camp for 3-4 year olds: Camp is 9 weeks in length and offers lots of preparation in school readiness skills for rising preschoolers and LOTS of time outside to play!

Nature Exploration Summer Camp for ages 4-8 years: This program is a 100% outdoor nature immersion experience and is held outside in our beautiful learning space adjacent to the Beaver Brook. Each week is a new theme centered around nature, the arts, or place-based education. Out-of-state and non-local families welcome.
All Beaver Brook Children's School programs participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and/or the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), providing healthy meals and snacks at no additional cost to enrolled children.
